Country Roads…Take me home!

I showed a home a few days ago to three different family’s. This house is located in the country and the country attracts all kinds of folks. The current resident has been given notice of non renewal because she has unauthorized animals.

Rabbits, chickens, three pit bulls and a mutt. This is outside with the three boats that are broken with no wheels on the trailers and the broken down cars and junk everywhere.

Since she is being asked to leave we are leasing it. All three of my appointments are back to back. So the first couple showed up and as we began looking at the home, the current resident took over as she claims to be a Realtor and leasing professional. I asked if the couple had children. He said, if he did he was not aware! His girl said that she was aware that she had none! I am so glad she knows this!

They begin discussing where the shooting range will go! I told them “you cannot have a shooting range here, this is a rent house and you have several neighbors”. The man starts banging his fist on the table saying “you will not come in without my approval”, “you will not dictate what I can and cannot do”, “Oh and I will need you to hold the deposit because I don’t have the money to cover it right now”. Then says very calmly. “Is this ok?”. Thank God my second appointment has showed up!

The second couple get out with their dog. Remember the yard has dogs, chickens and rabbits and a built in leasing agent. Well lets just say this was interesting. Especially when they start asking the current tenant if they can have the junk cars and boats that are in the yard. They were pretty disappointed when I told them they couldn’t live like this either. They were a little offended too!

NEXT, Finally normal people that want to live in the house and wanted to know if the carpet would be replaced and the YARD CLEAN. Since the deposit holds the house off of the market, I can only pray that the “normal” family comes first with the deposit.

YEAH! They did!

Sometimes you just have to wonder where these people come from.
